Hurricane, New Orleans Style recipe: |

Combine all ingredients, mix well (shake or stir). Pour over crushed ice in Hurricane glass. Best enjoyed through small straw. Garnish with fruit wedge if desired. |

| Submitted by mark on 2007-05-29 | Most recipes i've seen for a hurricane use passionfruit syrup/juice in place of the pineapple mentioned here, and also include some sort of lime. The light/dark rum combination is the important ingredient though.
It's a great drink, but can be a bit sweet if you add too much grenadine. I normally make it much stronger than suggested here, with about a 50/50 split of soft/alcohol content, and with a 65/35 split on dark/light rum because i prefer dark rum. | | |
