Amaretto Liqueur


Amaretto Liqueur ingredients:

to be served in a:

Sugar (1 cup / 24.0 cl)

Water (3/4 cup / 18.0 cl)

Glycerine (1/2 tsp. / 2 ml)

Apricot (dried halves) (2 / 6.0 cl)

almond extract (1 tbs. / 1.5 cl)

Grain Alcohol (1/2 cup / 12.0 cl)

Water (1/2 cup / 12.0 cl)

Brandy (1 cup / 24.0 cl)

Food Coloring (yellow) (3 drops / 3 ml)

Food Coloring (Red) (6 drops / 6 ml)

Food coloring (Blue) (2 drops / 2 ml)

Amaretto Liqueur recipe:


Combine sugar and 3/4 cup water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and simmer until all sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and cool. In an aging container, combine apricot halves, almond extract, grain alcohol with 1/2 cup water, and brandy. Stir in cooled sugar syrup mixture. Cap and let age for 2 days. Remove apricot halves. (Save apricot halves, can be used for cooking). Add food coloring and glycerin. Stir, recap and continue aging for 1 to 2 months. Re-bottle as desired. Liqueur is ready to serve but will continue to improve with additional aging.
